Valentines Wrap Up!

I had an awesome Valentine's Day . . . actually we celebrated Valentines day Friday the 13th because Jerry had to fly out to New Orleans on Saturday (I'll elaborate on that in a min.). Me and the kids were up late Thursday night making gifts and filling out valentine cards for school the next day. JJ didn't tell me till the day of that he had to decorate a valentine box for school and they were gonna have a contest to see who's was the best. So we worked really hard on this metal lunch pail for him. He was so excited he said "Mama I feel it in my soul, I'm gonna win!"
Well, he didn't win, but he seemed ok about it said that the prize was no big deal just a chocolate heart! But I found out later his teacher thought the pail was so nice she assumed we had bought it! He didn't tell her he MADE it, ok so "we" made it but still! LOL

So my day (Friday) started out with me waking the kids up with there valentine gifts, I got Summer earrings and the boys I got them techdecks. Then later on in the day Jerry surprised me with these beautiful flowers . . . .

Then that night we went to Ruth Chris's Steak house to eat and before we left he got me some more gifts . . . . some earrings and a gold and diamond bangle bracelet. But he never leaves Summer out either he had one of those Vermont teddy Bear's delivered to her and he got her some earrings too! She's gonna be hard pressed to ever find a guy that treats her as good as her Daddy does!

So Jerry was supposed to be in New Orleans for appointments on Sunday and Monday, but because we've been going back and forth trying to figure out what to do with my grandmother he offered to go ahead a day and have a sit down talk with my grandpa and lay it all out for him on what's got to be done for my grandmother. The only flight he could get into New Orleans was 5AM so after taking me out the night before he had to get up before dawn catch a plane to New Orleans drive to Miss. (3 hours) and meet with my grandpa. It turns out my grandpa seems to be on the same page as us. But I told Jerry that out of all the things he gave me for Valentines that was the sweetest gift! It meant alot to me!

Police raid my house!

Ok, maybe I'm being a bit dramatic but I had to get your attention somehow!:-)

Warning this is a long post . . .
We had gone out for family night, we try and do this every Friday night. This past Friday night we went bowling. When we got home we always come in and out thru the garage . . . we reminded Tre tomorrow was garbage day so we went inside and he got the garbage ready and to the curb, I guess we assumed he'd shut the door after he came in. I put the kids to bed, Jerry was asleep before I got them in bed, I stayed up and watched some TV, now normally I double check all the doors, not sure what happened it was one of those freakish things and I just forgot! It probably didn't help that I had a really bad sinus headache. Well I finally went to bed about 11:30 and at 12:30 I woke up to someone yelling Sheriff anyone home???

I jumped out of bed woke Jerry up and told him what I heard, I was half asleep, I had take two Tylenol Pm's so that didn't help. He jumped up told them to hold on and he put some shorts on, no shirt and ran downstairs. There were four police two of them with there guns drawn on Jerry! They asked for his Id and he gave him his license which has his office address on it. So they wanted to see something with his home address on it . . . I woke him out of dead sleep so you can imagine he looked rough and was acting out of it. I mean its obvious he's not a burglar he wasn't even dressed, and his hair a mess! One of the other officer's spoke up and said well that's his picture right there on the wall! Duh!!! They said that our garage door was left open and one of our neighbors called them. They said they knocked but we didn't answer. Let me say right here we have a two story house, if we're upsairs you can't really hear anyone knocking downstairs.
So after Jerry thanked them and shut the garage they left. If I didn't look so rough myself I would of probably gone down to try and take a picture for my Picture of the day (project 365). Jerry would of killed me if I did that! LOL

Anyways, we're pretty close to our neighbors, I found it strange that they would call the police, knowing my neighborse they would of knocked and probably just shut our garage door for us! Also it wasn't that late, and with both of our vehicles parked out front for all they know were up and left it open, it usually stays open when we're home. So we questioned them the next day and no one we knew called. In fact our neighbor next door said they knocked on his door because they ran our plates and they were registered to his house, he said they had to of gotten that wrong! Our neighbor on the end said they parked in front of his house and walked (3 houses down) to our house. He was in his garage working on his motorcycle. I personally believe that they were patrolling the neighborhood and thought maybe we were getting robbed . . . because they saw our door open and two trucks in front of our house. But regardless it was a scary moment just glad it was the police coming in and no one else!

The funny thing is we have an alarm system that we never use. So we decided from now on we'll start using it if only a reminder for us to lock up. Because if I would of went to set the alarm it wouldn't of worked if the garage door was open.

Outrageous

(Scroll all the way down to the bottom of this page and pause the music player)

I think its Outrageous for a women with 6 babies already to go and have 8 babies! I hope they pursue the Dr. in this case because he definitely needs to be under investigation. She, the mother obviously isn't all there mentally.

In this interview she says that she will stop her life for them and be present for them and hold them. So if she's stopping her life and being present who's gonna go to work to make the money to take care of them! I have three kids and there's alot of days I feel stretched just to give them the individual attention that they need and deserve and I have a husband that works 40 plus hours a week to make sure he can provide for us!

I'm not for anyone telling a person what they can't and cannot do but when you use medical intervention to do something like this, there's got to be a limit, a standard. Just look at the legalities someone has to go thru to adopt or be foster parents . . .

This women lives with her parents,in a modest 3 bedroom house doesn't have a job, filed bankruptcy last year but never showed up for the court dates so it didn't go thru. She had a debt of $981,371! She says that after she finishes school she'll be able to provide for her kids, who takes care of her 14 babies while she's in school!

She says in the interview I took a risk, its a gamble! She's gambling with her babies lives! What about health care, how is she gonna provide health care for 14 babies that apparently some of them will most likely have special medical needs. I guess that will be up to us the taxpayers!

Ok, stepping off my soapbox (for now) if you read this whole post well, God bless you, I feel privilidged to live in a country where I can get on the world wide web and say what I want to!

White Chocolate

Ok, anyone see American Idol last night it was the round where they have to get in a group and preform, Yes I'm a reality show junkie! But I never watch anything in real time, always watch it saved on my Tivo, so I can watch it at my leisure, usually when I'm folding clothes its the only thing I can do to make it more enjoyable. I hate laundry!

Anyway's my favorite group of the night was "White Chocolate", I wouldn't be surprised if one of these became this year's American Idol. Simon even seems to be enjoying it!

Long Weekend

Ok, so on Thursday Cathy picked me up and we headed up to Oleana State park to Hilltop Memories to there annual Winter Retreat. Most stayed at the park in cabins (no heat) which is nice if you like that sorta of thing, but I prefer a hotel :-) Now don't get me wrong I can camp with the best of them but I don't like to combine my hobbies (camping and scrapbooking). Did alot of socializing but got alot of scrapping done too, some of you might be amazed at this!

So while I was off in the woods scrapping Jerry and the kids flew up north toRiver Ranch and met his buddy Dean and his family there. From what I hear they had a really good time, they went to a car show and a Rodeo. JJ caught a huge catfish and wouldn't ya know no one got a picture. Jerry said Tre was excellent at shooting the bow and arrow's, they nicknamed him Robin Hood. Summer became a real cowgirl, rode a horse and even went two-stepping! I hate I missed it, Jerry promised he would take me!
Jerry took this picture out the side window of his plane
